EXHIBIT TITLE: Platinum Palladium Photography by David Burbach
DESCRIPTION:
David Burbach works exclusively in platinum/palladium photography. Burbach creates images that are remarkably subtle and detailed with a tonal range that is unsurpassed. Platinum/palladium was a popular method of making photographic prints at the turn of the 20th century. Platinum/palladium prints have a sensuous texture that is dramatically different from the glossy surface of gelatin silver prints. Today very few photographers chose an old process and those who do are considered “alternative” photographers. All of Burbach’s prints are made start-to-finish by hand in his darkroom.

The Photo Continuum has been formed as an online gallery to provide a venue for superior photographers to present their work, to assist in the artistʼs growth and achievements, and most importantly the next step for collectors of photography to explore work by contempory artists. We are very pleased to present bi-monthly exhibitions featuring the work of one of our artists as well as the work of guest artists throughout the year.

Celebrate Oregon: 150 years of Architecture Exhibit
Celebrate Oregon: 150 years of Architecture, a juried photography exhibit opened Sunday, Feb. 1 with a First Thursday Reception on Feb 5.
It is hard to beat having your reception in Portland's most venerable crown "jewel"... the Pittock Mansion! And if that wasn't enough I was also honored to have won First Place for Monastery and Honorable Mention for Old Diamond Fruit Packing Plant.
As an Oregon 150 partner, the Pittock Mansion Society is proud to celebrate Oregon’s history. The show is open until June 30 (with a general admission fee). Show Jurors: Michael Henley of Contemporary Images, Laura Valenti of Newspace Center for Photography and Lucy McLean of Pittock Mansion.
